About Inner Circle of Investigators

Our Story 

In 1999, during a morning break at the National Association of Legal Investigators training conference in New Orleans, a group of twelve seasoned legal investigators met for the first time. Their shared vision was to form a professional network devoted to advancing investigative excellence through viable educational resources for use in large civil litigation and criminal defense cases. The goal was simple but powerful—create a confidential forum where members could exchange expert resources, refine their skills, and explore new investigative techniques and tools, all with integrity and professional respect.

From that first meeting, a dedicated workgroup was formed: professionals committed to continual learning, collaboration, and specialization.

Who We Are Today 

Since our founding, the original twelve have welcomed select new members who share our guiding principles. Today, this network represents a national association of highly experienced legal investigators and forensic specialists—trusted for their depth of knowledge, technical skill, and unwavering professionalism.

Our members bring between an average of 25+ years of detailed oriented investigative experience, extensive trial testimony and direct involvement in multiple multimillion‑dollar verdicts and not guilty verdicts on behalf of the accused. Many have published authoritative works in their respective fields and serve as trusted experts for lawyers in the Inner Circle of Advocates and nationally recognized trial firms across the United States.

Our Collaboration 

Members stay in close communication through private channels and direct collaboration. Each year, the group convenes for an intensive three‑day educational exchange hosted by one of our members, ensuring that every participant remains at the forefront of investigative practice and emerging technology.

Membership is by invitation only and extended through peer recommendation. There are no dues or financial obligations; only a shared commitment to ethical collaboration and professional educational growth.
